For over 20 years, Gareth has worked as a strategic advisor at the highest level, and at Chess Engage he uses his expertise in community engagement to support projects in a way that ensures communities are heard and their needs understood. 

Gareth spent a decade as a district councillor in West Oxfordshire and as a unitary authority Councillor in Berkshire, becoming group leader holding the balance of power.  He is a successful campaigner. 

As the former Independent Construction Commissioner for HS2 and as a senior manager at Crossrail, Gareth understands how communities respond to the biggest and most complex projects including social value and long term community engagement.
